About Buckland Farm Market in Virginia

Buckland Farm Market is a family-owned and operated farmers market and grocery serving customers primarily in Fauquier, Prince William and Loudoun County, VA. Buckland Farm Market opened for business in 1986 by Bill Coffey and was the only farmers market in the area serving fresh produce, eggs, beef, jams and jellies, vegetables, fruit, baked goods and much.

Bill Coffey passed away in early 2021, and the Buckland Farm Market and surrounding farm acreage was purchased by Chris Gilbert and family in mid-2021. Since the purchase, the Gilbert family has undertaken numerous renovations and upgrades and has invested heavily into the market to make it one of the areas premiere local country shopping experiences. The market draws in customers from as far away as Fairfax, VA and Washington, DC.

The market is located on Gilbert and Sons Farm (formerly known as Avalon Farm), at 4484 Lee Hwy, Warrenton, VA 20187 and is a 150+ acre working cattle farm with bountiful opportunities and resources at their disposal. Buckland Farm Market continues the family-owned tradition of providing local communities with farm-fresh foods and hospitable country service.

Ice Cream, Ice Cream, We All Love Ice Cream

After the purchase of the market, it was Chris Gilbert’s dream to have an old-fashioned ice cream parlor at the farm market.  Chris’ wife, Danielle Gilbert, owner and operates Woody’s Ice Cream, a successful ice cream business in the Old Town Fairfax, VA since 1998. Chris wanted to bring the same delicious soft-serve and hand-dipped ice cream to the residents in Fauquier and Prince William County….and boy is Buckland Farm Ice Cream delicious!
